Israeli Territory vs Palestinian Territory

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/opinions/a-two-state-solution-is-best-for-everyone/2016/12/31/20ec9648-cecb-11e6-a87f-b917067331bb_story.html?client=safari

In the above link from the WaPo, Brent Scowwcroft and Thomas Pickering argue for the two-state solution. If one wonders what the future would look like, one only need look at territory currently held by Israel compared to that under Palestinian control. Despite billions of US dollars that have poured into Palestine, those areas are still a filthy, undeveloped, "Appalachia" in the Middle East. In contrast, the Israeli controlled land is clean, irrigated, and productive.

I guarantee the pre-1967 borders won't satisfy the Palestinians and won't lead to peace in the Middle East. Hope and well wishes aren't enough.

Another Worthless Obama Statement

President Obama made yet another addition to his list of worthless and forgettable statements. He claimed had he been able to run again, he would have beaten Trump. Well he couldn't; he didn't and we will never know if he was right. It's just more wind from a president hoping for a legacy of more than just being the first African American President of the United States. Unfortunately, legacies are created throughout a presidency not in the final days of one. This latest claim will go down in history along with "Hope and Change" and "Today is the day when the rise of the oceans will begin to slow..." as just more empty words if they are remembered at all. Mr Obama's legacy will be one of squandered opportunities to change America for the better and  "fundamentally transforming" the country for the worse.

Obama and the Koala

With the exception of the koala, I know of no other creature on earth that has a more consistent diet than Barack Obama. Koalas eat exclusively eucalyptus and the recent election reminds us of one of Mr Obama's talents: arranging five course meals for himself consisting of crow prepared in various ways. During the election, President Obama scoffed at Donald Trump's claims that the election system is rigged. Now that his side lost, he apparently doesn't believe that is so far fetched after all.

The Russian hacking claims will ultimately prove to be just another distraction that had no provable  effect on the election. One would think that after eight years, he would work a little harder to vary his diet. Regardless of how it's prepared, constantly having to eat crow would get old.

Tillerson and the Order of Friendship

For those concerned about Putin and Tillerson being too close based on the fact that Putin gave Tillerson the Order of Friendship, I say relax. The Order of Friendship from Putin is like a Christmas card from your insurance agent. Don't read too much into it.

Sally Field Joins the Ranks of the Unhinged Liberals

While I enjoy her work as an actress, I would prefer that Sally Field refrain from making a fool out of herself by hypocritical rants on TV and Twitter. On a recent appearance on the Chelsea Show, Field embarked on a unhinged rant to host, Chelsea Handler, that included the following: "If you look at his past, if you look at his history, there is no evidence that he can do one single thing that he says he’s going to do."

I suppose that Donald Trump, a real estate billionaire with dozens of highly successful, very large scale projects to his credit saying "We will build a wall and Mexico will pay for it." Is far fetched but when Barack Obama, a community organizer, state senator, and junior US Senator, said in a speech following the Minnesota primary (3 June 2008), " ... this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal;..." this is a reasonable claim?

Maybe it would be better if Ms. Field stuck with what she knows since it appears she has a blind spot when it comes to politics.

Dems Project Own Bias On Trump Win

It's becoming more and more clear that Democrats and Progressives (but I repeat myself) don't understand the reasons behind the recent shellacking they took in the election. Further, their influence nationwide has collapsed during the Obama presidency. They have lost the White House, the House, the Senate and they are outnumbered 31 to 18 in state governorships. Additionally, they are 69 to 31 minorities in state legislatures. Even in the face of these results, they doubled down on their losing formula and re-elected Nancy Pelosi as minority leader. When talking heads and analysts on the left try to explain the reasons for Trump's win, we often hear that Trump effectively targeted white, blue collar, voters. I would argue this is completely wrong. Democrats see America as a collection of various voting blocks to target and then try to craft a message that somehow plots a least squares fit between all of them. However, there is an old saying that if you try to please everyone, you end up pleasing no one. It is my opinion that Trump didn't target anyone. He said what he thinks and his message resonated with a very diverse cross section of America including white, working class voters especially in the key rust belt states.

Hopefully Progressives will continue to project their biases on their Republican rivals because in doing so, they will continue to misunderstand them and fail to understand why they lose to them. The end result will be years of opposition, minority party status for the Democrats and a bright future for America.

Praise For Castro Speaks Volumes

Last Friday, Cuban dictator, Fidel Castro died at the age of 90 after more than fifty years of brutal, murderous rule. Despite his executing or imprisoning thousands of his own citizens and spreading terrorism and revolution throughout the world, amazingly liberals have managed to find reasons to heap praise on this monster. They point to Cuba's universal healthcare and education system as reason to celebrate Castro's life and leadership. They cite the fact that Castro gave every family in the country a free rice cooker but the fact that they didn't have any rice to put in it somehow escaped their notice. This is obscene and demonstrates just how perverted the left's world view is. This ability to so completely distort reality firmly establishes American progressives as the master contortionist of the political circus and says far more about them than it does about Castro himself. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Progressive Language Engineers Hard at Work

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, there are some 171,476 words currently in use in the English language Apparently, that just isn't enough for progressives to sufficiently disparage conservatives and conservatism so they have to turn to language engineers. What is a language engineer you may ask? A language engineer is a liberal who creates new words or terms which they get to define and then use against conservatives, individual liberty, market economics and traditional American values in order to push their socialist agenda. Language engineering is a branch of social engineering. It often borrows and combines real terms from law, science, technology and other disciplines in order to lend credibility to their made up terms. Some examples of terms created by language engineering are social justice, environmental justice, anthropomorphic climate change, white privilege, micro-aggression and most recently alt-right. Technically, progressives didn't coin the term alt-right but they quickly co-opted it and have started using it to unfairly associate those with whom they disagree with racism, anti-Semitism, and white nationalism.

Language engineering is dangerous because, like political correctness, it deflects from the real issues and inhibits free speech. It is incumbent upon all thinking Americans to reject engineered terms and not further perpetuate them by using them. By doing so, we can force progressives to argue their ideas based on the merits; something they hate to do because they lose.

On Micro-aggression

How are students who can't deal with micro-aggression in college, going to survive in a real-world full of macro-aggression?

Our universities are not preparing our young people for life.

Misplaced Election Anger

Americans who hoped for a President Hillary are understandably upset and angry. For months they were told that she would win, Trump had no path to the White House, and that in the electoral vote, it wouldn't even be close, only to see just the opposite result. To have their hopes built up so dramatically and then have them dashed would certainly make almost anyone angry. However, for Hillary supporters, anger directed at President-elect Trump, Republicans, Trump supporters, James Comey or the Russians is misplaced. You were lied to by the mainstream media pure and simple.

Whether it was the result of a deliberate attempt to affect the election by demoralizing those opposed to Hillary and keep them away from the polls or by greatly over reporting negative items on Trump (by one count 19 negative Trump items to 1 negative Hillary item on the front page of NYT on a single day!) or by relying on polls that over sampled Democrats, or perhaps (I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt) they just fell victim to listening to the sounds from inside their own echo chamber, the end result may have actually been the exact opposite. It just may have screwed over more than 60 million of their fellow Americans and left a great many completely distraught. Voters from every point of the political spectrum should focus their ire at the dishonest and corrupt main stream media for their journalistic malfeasance. Let's punish them in the worst possible way - by ignoring them.

Liberal Reaction to the Election

You've seen the crying. You've seen the rants. Colleges are canceling exams, offering therapy dogs and places for students to play with Play-Doh and clay to help them deal with their emotions - I'm not joking. Now we are seeing protests and riots. Some are calling for real violence.

Folks, this is why these people can't be trusted to lead. Their emotions make them irrational!

The Day After: Return of the Prodigal Sons (and Daughters)

Now that the 2016 election is over and Donald Trump is the president-elect, the long parade of "Never Trumpers", Republican establishment types, and RINOs are slinking back home like the "Prodigal Son." Hopefully for them, Mr. Trump will be as magnanimous as the father in Christ's parable.

The Presidency Magnifies You

Campaigning for Hillary in North Carolina earlier today, President Obama said Trump would be dangerous as president because the presidency magnifies you; meaning it would make Trump even more outrageous. If that is the case, it would transform Hillary from major criminal to Marvel Comic super villain.

Democrat Lack of Personal Situational Awareness

I find the lack of personal situational awareness of Democrats astonishing. It really makes one wonder when the POTUS and now Huma Abedin find out about stuff first from the news. How disconnected to their own lives and responsibilities! What a lack of situational awareness! In comparison, these people make Howard Hughes in his final days, living in a darkened hotel suite in Vegas seem downright plugged in!

Hillary's Trickle Down Economics

She may not admit it but Hillary's economic plan is also trickle down. The difference is she wants the government and by extension her and her insider crony friends to get their cut first. The "mob" works that way I'm told.

This is how political types get rich.

Don't fall for it! Don't stand for it!!!

Progressivism's Fundamental Flaw

The fundamental flaw in progressivism is that it promises to lift up some groups but it does so at the expense of others: elevating blacks at the expense of whites; lifting up women by pushing down men;    helping the poor and middle class by vilifying the rich; benefitting employees by punishing the businesses that employ them, etc. This is also evident in their "zero sum game" view of economics or in other words one group's gain comes at another group's loss. The appeal of this is that it requires no effort on the part of those it purports to help.

The sad reality is in the end this philosophy results in everyone being worse off.

WikiLeaks - Mainstream Media's Hillary - Trump Tit For Tat

There seems to be a "Tit for Tat" situation playing out between Wikileaks and the Mainstream Media when it comes to damaging info releases about the candidates. Julian Assange releases another 1000 or so emails that are damaging to Hillary and they are immediately answered by yet another video or skeleton from Trump's past.

Assange claims he has information that, when revealed, will end Hillary's bid for the White House. So far they have been damaging but not the knockout blow he has promised. My guess is that this will come down to a political war of attrition where timing and ammo will be the deciding factors.

With 27 days until the election, the side that can drop the biggest bomb closest to the election will win. From what we already know about Hillary Clinton and what we still suspect about her, I predict Wikileaks to "go nuclear" sometime in the first week of November for a delayed "October Surprise" and Hillary's lust for power will end in a political mushroom cloud.

The Hysterical Left Helps Trump

The American people are clearly sick of career politicians, the mainstream media, and the elitist-class. As a result, the Hillary Clinton campaign continues to fail to gain any traction. Instead of it giving her a huge bounce, Hillary's clear victory in the first debate only solidified in the minds of many the fact that she is just a career politician who talks a good game but in the end has accomplished little and is actually responsible for much of what is wrong with the country. Rather than trying to run on her record, Hillary and her campaign team which includes the media are focusing their efforts on ever more hysterical attacks on Trump which are riddled with unsubstantiated accusations and only serve to highlight the very significant and documented problems of her own. The Clinton team's unmistakable lack of respect for the average American coupled with Secretary Clinton's propensity for labeling large swaths of her fellow citizens as deplorable, irredeemable, and her enemies, isn't doing much to garner additional voter enthusiasm. Their constant focus on obvious distractions at the expense of real issues only adds to the impression that they are out of touch. The latest non-issue - Trump following the law to legally not pay taxes - is a perfect example. What is really amazing is that someone (Hillary) who has clearly broken numerous laws has the nerve to criticize someone (Trump) for obeying the law. The irony and hypocrisy are not lost on the voters and will come back to haunt her this November.

Explaining Trump: Mean Guy vs Pajama Boy

Remember me? Pajama Boy!
Despite being rude, arrogant, and mean, Donald Trump still has a lot of support. Perhaps nice and acting traditionally presidential is just less important than just not being a "pajama boy"

Tough Mission for Hillary

Hillary has a very tough mission ahead of her tonight. Many on the left would like for the moderator to fact check what Trump says to call out his "lies." I hope Lester Holt does what he is being pressured to do because by doing that, it continues to draw attention to Hillary's even more significant problems with veracity.

Alternatively, when Trump makes inaccurate claims, Hillary could accuse him of not being in command of the facts. That would be a much better tactic but it is not without its pitfalls. Trump could easily retort that for someone who has so much experience and has all the facts, she sure hasn't been able to translate that into accomplishment or making things better.

Either way, Secretary Clinton is in a very difficult position. We will see in just a few hours how this will play out but one thing is for sure, it will be interesting to say the least.

Over 800 People on Deportation List Accidentally Given Citizenship?

The Inspector General of the Department of Homeland Security reported that over 800 people from countries of concern (think Iraq, Pakistan, Yemen, etc) and who were slated for deportation were "accidentally" given citizenship instead. ARE YOU SHITTING ME? Accident my ass!

Secretary Jeh Johnson should be asked to resign immediately or be impeached and those directly responsible should be fired for gross negligence. Oh wait. They probably didn't intentionally F-up on a monumental scale so I guess they get a pass in the new world we live in.

Is America Becoming the New Jonestown?

When I see how crazy thing are becoming here,  I can't help but wonder if I am observing the equivalent of a "Fall of the Roman Empire."

America has become a modern day Jonestown where a small circle of complete lunatics are running the show; a wide and deep segment of the population is not only willing to drink the Koolaid but actively seeks it out, leaving the rest of us scanning the horizon for a patch of jungle into which we can run screaming as we go.

I hope I'm wrong and this train wreck can be turned around.

Parole Hearing or Presidential Campaign?

Something was always nagging at me (besides the obvious) when I heard Hillary say, "I made a mistake. It's certainly not something I would ever do again." Then it dawned on me, these are usually words one hears from someone seeking parole not the presidency.

Discuss amongst yourselves.

I Bet Hillary Has Lupus

The only pneumonia that I know of that isn't contagious is the kind I had called BOOP which stands for Bronchiolitis obliterans organizing pneumonia. Often the cause is unknown but it can be caused by auto-immune disorders such as lupus. That is what I predict is wrong with Hillary.

Even as self-centered as she is, I still don't think she would endanger the health of her staff or the little girl she hugged at the 9-11 memorial and certainly not her grandchildren at Chelsea's.

Additional evidence I would point to are her long, unproductive coughing spells that water doesn't help (been there!), weakness, and fatigue with no fever or other hints of infection. Then there is the fact that she has been keeping covered and wearing sunglasses when no one else around her is. I attribute this to the fact that many of the medicines used to treat these kinds of illness cause sensitivity to the sun.

These types of diseases can be very serious, are often chronic and would have long term implications with regard to someone's fitness to be president. Don't get me wrong, typical pneumonia is very serious especially for older people but it is very treatable so there is no reason why they would have tried to keep it a secret. She might have even gotten a lot of sympathy: "Poor Hillary. See how hard she is working and how tough she is!" One thing is for sure, There is also no way you can "power through the usual pneumonia. You can power through BOOP; I did but it wasn't fun.

So there you have it - the Carnivore's diagnosis of Hillary. Hope it isn't true since I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Besides I don't want her to have any excuse other than herself if she loses.

Whatever Happened to "Seeking a better way of life"?

Is it just me or didn't people used to say, "Immigrants come to America seeking a better way of life for their families." I don't think it is a coincidence that this phrase has fallen out of usage. I think it has been deliberately supplanted with"Immigrants come to America seeking opportunity." by multiculturalists because "better way of life" suggests some cultures are superior to others; in particular, the American way of life is better than those the immigrants choose to flee. Multiculturalists would have you believe that all cultures and societies are equal. This is why they oppose assimilation by immigrants. Disunity furthers their goal of weakening the US.

Coughing Fits Could Sink Hillary

The one thing that no one can shield Hillary from are the effects of a coughing fit. Even if they truly are nothing more than allergies or the effect of her blood thinner meds, if she has a 4 minute coughing  spell during one of the debates, she is toast.

Rightly or wrongly, Americans will not vote for what they perceive as a "Dead Woman Walking".

Remember: a flop sweat killed Nixon in his debate against Kennedy and it sunk his bid for the presidency in 1960.

President Obama Dis'd By China

When President Obama arrived in China for the G20 summit, the Chinese "forgot" to send stairs or even the usual red carpet. Then they separated him from members of his security staff.

If you have even a basic understanding of Asian culture, you know this was a deliberate gesture to cause "loss of face" for our president.

Just one more example how President Obama - the Apologist-in-Chief - has cause a loss of respect and status of the United States around the world.

At least under George W. Bush, while the world may not have liked us, at least we had its respect. After eight years of Mr. Obama, we have neither.

Hillary Can't Even Vet Her Own Rally

How did Omar Mateen, father of the Pulse nightclub terrorist and an anti-American, radical Taliban supporter end up in the VIP section at a Hillary Clinton rally in Kissimmee, Florida just south of Orlando?

If she can't even vet attendees at her own rally of just a few thousand people, how is she going to properly vet the 500,000 Syrian refugees she plans to bring to the US if elected president?

Private Email Server Convenient For Hillary; Deadly For Shahram Amiri

In emails on her unsecured server, Hillary and her subordinates discussed an Iranian nuclear scientist, Shahram Amiri, who was working for the US government. They obviously knew it might expose this covert source since they tried to use code to help protect his identity but Navajo Code-Talker they were not. Yesterday we learned that, despite their amateurish efforts to protect his identity, Amiri was hanged by Iran for treason.

For those of us who have been entrusted with classified material and treated it with the care that is required, it comes as no surprise that Hillary's extremely careless handling of highly classified material would have grave consequences.

Hillary's use of her unsecured server was, for her, a convenience but for Iranian scientist Shahram Amiri it was deadly.

$400M Payment Not Ransom?

To everyone except the Obama Administration and their apologists, the $400M in foreign currency, in small denominations, delivered in the dead of night in an unmarked cargo plane to the Iranian ayatollahs looks like random.

The only way it could look more like random is if the money was wrapped in brown paper bags and dropped in trash cans in a park in Tehran.

By the way, the excuse of the litigation at The Hague is lame. There are also cases amounting to $34B against Iran for damages caused by their terrorist activities. We should have given the money to Americans to settle those cases rather than giving it to Tehran to create more.

Hey Barack The Barbary Pirates Want Their Foreign Policy Back

From 1801-1805, the US Navy and Marine Corps team fought the First Barbary War, also known as the Tripolitan War, against Muslim pirates in North Africa who were taking America sailors and ships hostage. You know, "From the Halls of  Montezuma, to the Shores of Tripoli,..," Prior to that time, America capitulated and went along with the pirates' foreign policy; paying the ever increasing ransoms and annual tributes to gain the return of our sailors and ships. Finally, President Thomas Jefferson had had enough, we fought back and eventually defeated the pirates.

According to an article in yesterday's Wall St Journal , the Obama Administration secretly sent $400M to Iran as part of the controversial nuclear deal in order to gain the freedom of four Americans being held by the mullahs. The money was sent in foreign currency, on an unmarked plane  without any fanfare. Under US law, it is illegal to pay ransom however, Administration officials deny any quid pro quo. If it was all on the "up and up", why all the secrecy? Could it be that, like so many of the other Does this sound familiar Mr President? of the Iranian Nuclear Deal, we are once again being deceived?

Hey Barack, the Barbary Pirates called, they want their foreign policy back! Sound familiar Mr President?

Dems Use Khans As Political Human Shields

Typical Democrat political dirty tricks. Mr Khan was asked to speak at the Democrat Convention and launch an unprovoked attack against Trump. They hoped Trump wouldn't be able to respond for fear of being accused of attacking a gold star family. In essence, Democrats used the Khans as political human shields. That sounds more like what our enemies do than patriotic Americans. If anyone should apologize, it should be the Democrats for stooping to such un-American tactics.

Just One Question

Where was the outrage when Hillary Clinton called the mothers of those who died in Benghazi liars? I guess since families of those killed serving in the Department of State don't get gold star status, attacking their loved ones is okay with Democrats and Democrat-lights like John McCain. I wish there was a better word than hypocrite!

Hillary Calling The Kettle Black

Hillary attacked Trump for asking why Mrs Khan didn't speak during the DNC convention. I agree that it was in poor taste. Hillary asked, "Where is the bottom?" This from the woman who called the Benghazi mothers liars. Well Ms. Clinton, if anyone can help us find the bottom, it would be you. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

On second thought, Hillary can't help us find the bottom because with her it is a bottomless pit.

Progressives Should Heed The Warnings of Isaiah

Isaiah 5:20 Woe to you who call evil good, and good evil; who substitute darkness for light, and light for darkness; who exchange bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Destroying Jobs In Order To Create Jobs?

Hillary Clinton spent several days following her nomination touring Pennsylvania and Ohio bashing Trump over jobs. I would find this particularly amusing if it wasn't so sad. These are rust belt states in large part due to the very same policies espoused by Hillary and the Democrat Party. Hillary wants to shut down coal mining, an industry that employed 2,923 people in Ohio and 7,938 in Pennsylvania [Source: www.nma.org]. She also opposes the petroleum industry which employs 255,100 people in Ohio with an average salary of  $75,792 a year and 339,000 in Pennsylvania with an average salary of $84,353 a year. [Source: www.api.org] Apparently Hillary's plan is to destroy these existing solidly middle-class jobs and replace them with new jobs she will create.

According to its website, Trump International has 22,450 employees. If you discount political positions that pay women less than their male counterparts and "no show" jobs like the one she arranged for Chelsea, how many private sector jobs has Hillary ever created?

If Pennsylvanians and Ohioans vote for Hillary and they lose their jobs, they have no one to blame but themselves; not even Hillary because she told you exactly what she was going to do.

Hillary's Judgment?

Hillary has long claimed she supports and actually helped arrange the Obama Administration's Iranian Nuclear Deal - a deal that virtually guarantees the Iranian mullahs will have nukes within ten years.

Last night during her acceptance speech for the Democrat Party's nomination for president, she said Trump can't be trusted with nuclear weapons. Apparently for her, the "Death to America; Death to Israel" chanting mullahs aren't a problem.

I think this speaks more to her lack of judgment than Trump's!

Trump Out-Democrats The Democrats

The recent uproar over Trump asking the Russians to give back the 30,000 emails that Hillary deleted is actually quite clever. It is particularly satisfying because it uses a typical Democrat tactic against them - introducing a false premise in order to elicit a response from an adversary which connects them to the false premise or causes the opponent to make a damaging mistake.

The result has been that Trump's comments bring Hillary's email scandal back into the spotlight after they had all but fallen off the radar and at a time when Democrats had hoped to have all the focus on their convention. It also implies that, not only is it possible that her emails were hacked by our adversaries as FBI Director Comey suggested, they most likely were. Additionally, it causes the Democrats to make unforced errors by baiting them into responding which is like doing a gymnastic floor routine in a mine field. The responses from the Democrats have made them look ridiculous. In his response, President Obama referred to the Russians as "our adversaries". Congratulations Mr Obama. It only took you four years to realize something Mitt Romney told us back in 2012. Do the 1980s still "want their foreign policy back"? Moreover, it put the Dems in the following position:
Hillary's extremely careless handling of classified material probably allowed the Russians to steal it;
Hillary destroyed government records which is against federal regulations;
Hillary obstructed an FBI investigation, and
Hillary had her server wiped so completely that FBI computer forensics experts couldn't recover the information - pretty extreme for emails that only contained Chelsea's wedding plans and discussions about yoga.
When Trump suggests (probably jokingly) that if the Russians have the emails, they should give them back (They would, after all, be stolen American property.), the Democrats and the crazies in the main stream media say Trump is the traitor. Are you kidding me?

Wouldn't it be something if the Russians did return the emails? It would kinda be like them honoring a FOIA request - something the Democrats never seem to be able to do. How ironic would that be? So Trump out-Democrats the Democrats. Brilliant!

Trump's Patriotic Contribution

If nothing else, one has to give credit to Donald Trump for one thing, he has at least partially distracted the Democrats from their favorite pastime - bashing and undermining America. Here's to 8 more years of distracting subversive, progressive, lefties.

Let's work to build on and improve at great country for all Americans rather than destroy it in order to rebuild it as some mythical socialist utopia.

Tim Kaine VP Candidate or Jack Nicholson From The Shining?

Is it just me or did anyone else expect Tim Kaine to suddenly say "Here's Johnny" during his speech at the Democrat Convention last night?

Theme Song for DNC Convention

I think I have found the perfect analogy for the modern Democrat Party: the island of misfit toys from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. That should be their convention theme song. Click below to hear if you need to refresh your memory.
2016 Democrat Convention Theme Song

So Tim Kaine Speaks Spanish

Because lying and pandering to people is much more effective in their native language.

Why The Left Hates Trump

The following link is of a protester at the Republican Convention in Cleveland. It is very revealing of who these people are: the angry, anti-American Left. They hate Trump because he loves America. The obvious conclusion is that the Left which embodies the modern Democrat party hates America. Guilt by association? Maybe but I'm comfortable with that!

I challenge anyone to find Conservative protesters at the Democrat convention burning the American flag and professing their hatred of America. Good luck with that.

The Real Threat to America: Plagiarism

Everyone is rightly concerned about Melania Trump's convention speech. Thank goodness. I used to be concerned about Hillary's lying and endangering national security by her excessive carelessness handling classified material. Now we can focus on the threat to America that is plagiarism.

Lying And CoverIng Up: 1974 Vesus 2016

We sure have come a long way and not for the better. In 1974, Richard Nixon was forced to resign the presidency because of his lies and cover-up regarding the Watergate break-in. In 2016, Hillary Clinton may become president even though she has done far worse - she has been shown to be a liar and to have covered up her illegal email server and the events surrounding Benghazi. Throw in her excessively careless handling of classified material and perjury and today you are the most qualified Democrat to be president. The true irony is that Hillary started her career working as a staffer investigating Watergate. Apparently what she learned from that experience is that if you are going to lie and cover-up something, "Go big or go home!"

Is that the message? Or perhaps it is that crimes don't matter in 2016 as long as you are a progressive, female, Democrat, nominee for president of the United States.

Here is my bold prediction: Because Hillary has apparently gotten away with her criminal activities once again, she will be emboldened and will do even more egregious criminal acts if elected president. She won't make it through her first term before being impeached and either forced to resign or be convicted by the Senate and be removed from office.

Anyone voting for Clinton this November better be very comfortable with her choice for VP. In 2016 it will really matter!

Hillary's Victory Dance A Bit Premature?

I have to admit I was despondent about the FBI Director's decision not to recommend prosecuting the case against Secretary Clinton for her private email server and mishandling of classified information. When I heard that Director Comey was being called to testify before Congress, I thought, "Why  bother? You (and the People) lost; it's over." What made matters worse was the long list of lies laid out by Comey and his description of Hillary and her staffers' extremely careless handling of classified material and yet neither she nor anyone else would not be held accountable. After Comey's public announcement, Hillary's smug and gloating "victory dance" at a campaign event in North Carolina with President Obama by her side made the decision all the more galling. Then something surprising happened and my spirits began to lift.

Little by little, portions of Comey's testimony made their way to the media and the questions by the members of the House committee began to reveal that there were serious flaws in the FBI's investigation; most notably, investigators never compared their findings against Clinton's sworn statements to Congress. Any inconsistencies would show she either lied to Congress or the FBI. Either way, each one would be a felony and the result would be very big trouble for Ms. Clinton. Just ask Scooter Libby. By the close of business today, the State Department announced it was reopening the probe into Clinton's email scandal.

Perhaps Hillary's celebration was just a bit premature.

The Left's Latest Assault on Free Speech and Thought

The Left are great champions of free speech and free thought - as long as you agree with them. There are many examples of how they try to limit free speech and thought that they don't agree with.

One of their main tools of the language is to label certain arguments with which they disagree, hate speech and thus something that must be silenced. Of course the substance of the argument is irrelevant. Another example is the evolution of the name for global warming. When it became clear that the predictions weren't matching the agenda e.g. unusually cold winters, Leftists morphed the term into climate change to explain both warming and cooling. Convenient, right?

Now as the public has begun to reject the concept of political correctness, the statists on the left needed to create another "intellectual" sounding term they can use to combat speech and thought they don't like but can't mount a convincing argument against. This new term is micro-aggression.
Actually, according to Merrian-Webster.com, "microaggression which refers to a comment or action that is subtly and often unintentionally hostile or demeaning to a member of a minority or marginalized group—has seen a decided increase in usage over the past several years, though the word is at least 45 years old.

A few weeks ago, UNC Chapel Hill, published a guide, "Career Corner: Understanding Microaggressions." The guide was created using taxpayer money of course. Some examples of microaggression according to the guide are "Christmas vacation", suggesting a "golf outing", when someone says to a women, "I love your shoes." or when someone refers to their "boyfriend" or "girlfriend". Wow, how offensive. Don't we all feel much better now?

If controlling what one can and can't say wasn't so insidious, this would just be silly. It's not however because this is a deliberate erosion of your First Amendment rights. This is how these people roll.

Boy, I can't wait for these people to be in charge.

By the way, try finding the UNC guide using Google. It is no longer available. If they were proud of it , don't you think they would want everyone to read it?

Left, Right and Center: Here's "Why the Anger?"

With Trump, Sanders, and now BRexit, political-types, left, right, and center in America and elsewhere keep asking, "Where is all this anger coming from?" Are you serious? How dense are you people? Here are a few possible reasons in bullet form to make it easy for politicians to follow:

  • Passing laws but exempting themselves
  • Not enforcing laws they do pass
  • Constantly making excuses for their failures
  • Blaming others for their failures
  • Calling groups of fellow citizens enemies
  • Passing laws that large majorities of the public oppose
  • Holding hearings but never holding anyone accountable
  • Giving politicians a pass on criminal activity that would land ordinary citizens behind bars
  • Spending the country into oblivion - $19T in debt
  • Decrying greed and income inequality while becoming multi-millionaires in public service
  • Showing complete distain for ordinary citizens
  • Ignoring rampant waste, fraud, and abuse and then telling taxpayers they aren't paying enough
  • Constantly blaming your own country for all the world's ills
  • Focusing on trivial matters at the expense of serious issues
  • Lying
  • Parsing everything you say in lawyer speak so you can weasel out of things
  • Not keeping your promises
  • Disrespecting our history, culture and traditions
  • Giving foreigners rights of citizens while denying actual citizens their rights
  • Acting like an Ivy League law degree makes you an expert in everything from astrophysics to neurosurgery
  • Rejecting hundreds and even thousands of years of collective experience, wisdom and common sense in favor of newfangled ideas with no evidence of merit
  • Ceding our national sovereignty to unelected bodies like the UN, EU, and the World Court
In short, the People want you to leave them the hell alone!
Readers feel free to comment if I missed any of our grievances in the above bullets.

Loretta Lynch: Recuse, Resign or Be Impeached

I had planned on writing about why so many Americans are completely fed up with our government (and still do) when Attorney General Loretta Lynch provided yet another example to the long list of reasons.

Lynch has a long personal history with the Clintons dating back to the late 1990s. In 1999, she was nominated by President Bill Clinton to serve as the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York.[Woodrow, Stephanie (February 12, 2010). "Meet Loretta E. Lynch". Main Justice. Retrieved March 13, 2011.]  Based on this relationship to the Clintons, she should have recused herself from any involvement in the Justice Department's investigation of Hillary's email scandal. She hasn't  despite government regulations and legal ethics which dictate that it is improper. Specifically, the Code of Federal Regulations (28 CFR 45.2) states:
§ 45.2 Disqualification arising from personal or political relationship.
      (a) Unless authorized under paragraph (b) of this section, no employee shall participate in a criminal investigation or
prosecution if he has a personal or political relationship with:

      (1) Any person or organization substantially involved in the conduct that is the subject of the investigation or
            prosecution; or

      (2) Any person or organization which he knows has a specific and substantial interest that would be directly affected by
the outcome of the investigation or prosecution.

Additionally, the Department of Justice (DOJ) Ethics Handbook for On and Off Duty Behavior states:
Appearance of Impropriety: An employee shall endeavor to avoid any actions creating the appearance that the
employee is violating the law or the ethical standards set forth in this part. 5 CFR 2635.101(b)(14)

Lynch hasn't recused herself because the there was a presumption that she could be impartial. That presumption proved to be a bad one when she met privately, unannounced and uncovered by the press with former President Clinton in her government plane at the Phoenix airport thus violating both federal regulations and legal ethics.

Once again, the Clintons and those they associate with show they can't be trusted and lack any ethics.
As a minimum, Lynch should recuse herself from any further involvement with the Hillary email investigation. Better yet, she should resign as Attorney General for behavior that even a layman would recognized as unethical, unprofessional and inappropriate. If she doesn't, she should be impeached.

Enough of political-types feeling like they are above the law!!!

Masked Rifle-wielding Gunman in Germany? Impossible!

So a masked, rifle-wielding gunman took hostages today at a movie theater in Germany. I must have missed something. Doesn't Germany have very strict gun control? Or is that "common sense" gun control? Apparently another bad guy didn't get the memo.

Also find it curious CNN didn't provide any details about the gunman who was killed by police other than to parrot German authorities who say they don't believe it was terror related.
I'm sure we will find out shortly that it was another one of those right-wing, Republican American, Southern Rednecks, who cling to their Bibles and guns just like the Orlando and San Bernardino murderers, right?

Which is Better: Trump Wealth or Clinton Wealth?

Hillary criticizes Trump for getting rich while providing jobs for poor people in developing countries; Trump criticizes Hillary for becoming wealthy by providing aid to poor people in developing countries while taking a cut of course and taking $250,000 an hour speaking fees from Goldman Sachs and other Wall St firms all the while railing against Wall St greed. According to Hillary that's the going rate so it's okay. Which argument speaks to you says a lot about your sense of right and wrong.

Hillary Defies; Redefines the Peter Principle

Most are at least somewhat familiar with the Peter Principle which was described by Dr. Laurence J. Peter in his 1968 book "The Peter Principle" and is usually quoted as something like, an employee will rise or get promoted to his or her level of incompetence.

From her first job as a staffer on the House Judiciary committee investigating Watergate to her tenure as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton has managed to defy the Peter Principle every step of the way. It's more than that however. She has actually managed to redefine the Peter Principle. Despite the fact that she is incompetent and is seen, even by her supporters, as dishonest, untrustworthy, and a liar, it seems that when it comes to their support for Hillary, the top principle is her lack of a Peter Principle.

Hillary - Woman of the People

Back in April, Democrat Presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton made a campaign appearance and talked about income inequality while wearing a $12,495 Giorgio Armani jacket. Well I guess you can do that when you received $250,000 per speech to Wall Street firms like Goldman Sachs. I'm sure if she becomes president she will ensure all the rest of us are able to afford fancy duds like that,  one $15 minimum wage hour at a time. What a woman of the people; what a hypocrite! "Let them eat cake" anyone?

Follow-on to Previous post

Republicans get rich and run for public office - that bothers Democrats.
Democrats get elected to public office and get rich - that bothers conservatives like me.
Where do you stand?

Public Service Should Not Be a Path to Personal Wealth

I can think of no path to personal wealth in public service that isn't already illegal or should be made illegal because at its core, there lies a conflict of interest.

Truth Doesn't Need Embellishment

Or eight second pauses for dramatic for that matter. This is just another example (almost daily) of our shameful media and its so-called "journalists" lying and using deception to promote their political views. The truth can stand on its own. It doesn't need your help Ms. Couric. The editing of your story to add a "beat" is deceptive; the equivalent of a lie. I'm sure your parents taught you better. Shame on you!

For those of you that don't know to what I am referring, please check out the link below from CNN - not some right-wing conservative source.

Don't Fear Convention of the States - It is Time!

Article V of our Constitution prescribes two methods to add amendments. The first - most familiar method - is where two thirds of both Houses of Congress propose amendments. The second method which has never been used is a convention of the States. Unfamiliarity with this second method has created much trepidation and opposition to it ever being used. It is incorrectly believed that a Convention of the States would result is a complete rewrite of the Constitution. This fear is unfounded because this method is only to propose amendments not draft an entirely new document. Further, just as with the first method, any proposed changes would require approval by three fourths of the States. These safeguards were put in place to prevent a runaway of the process.

Virginia delegate George Mason proposed and argued for the second method for amending the Constitution as a safeguard against tyranny. He envisioned a time when Congress could not be relied upon to regulate itself. Two issues, term limits and balancing the budget, are perfect examples of his concerns and constitute a form of soft tyranny emanating from Congress.

A January 2013 Gallop poll showed 75% of Americans favor term limits on Congress and other polls show as high as 85% of Americans believe there should be an amendment requiring a balanced Federal budget. These are things the citizenry wants but will never be proposed by Congress because it would diminish its power. The only way to get these and many other needed reforms such as overturning the 17th Amendment and returning the selection of Senstors to State legislatures, is through the convention of the States process. It is time. We shouldn't fear this process. It was specifically designed to protect the States and ultimately the individual citizens from an out of control Congress and it is the last, best hope for saving the nation. We need this now!

Scapegoat Bernie

As polls show a dead heat in a potential match up between Trump and Hillary and as Bernie and Hillary continue to split the primary contests, Democrats are attacking Bernie Sanders and telling him he needs to get out of the race. They are realizing the coronation of Hillary is not a given.

Could Democrats and liberals (but I repeat myself) be searching for a face saving explanation in the event they suffer a humiliating defeat in November? After all, it couldn't possibly be the people rejecting their severely flawed and weak candidate now could it? If that doesn't work, we can always count on their other "go to" tactic: blaming it on the stupidity of the American people.

Progressives Defined Violence Differently Based on Their Need

A few annoying Democrat agitators disrupt Trump rallies and get punched in the face. Liberals come unhinged and cry about the violent behavior of Trump and all his supporters. They compare Trump to Hitler and Pol Pot. Use hyperbole much? Democratic agitators cause a riot at the Nevada Democrat Convention requiring a police response and everyone on the left call it "passion." The White House and its mainstream media sycophants all magically come up with the same word, "passion." Remember how they all came up with the same obscure word gravitas? Now that Bernie is threatening Hillary's candidacy, it's back to being violence.
Progressives live in an Orwellian "1984"  newspeak/group think world. Kinda scary, isn't it?

Not Knowing that You Don't Know

After several minutes of patting himself on the back for making things so much better, President Obama said the following last Sunday while delivering the commencement address at Rutgers University, "In politics and in life, ignorance is not a virtue. It's not cool to not know what you're talking about. That's not keeping it real, or telling it like it is. That's not challenging political correctness. That's just not knowing what you're talking about." It was meant as a jab at Trump.

Like so many of our politicians, Mr. Obama doesn't even realize that he doesn't even know that he himself doesn't know what he is talking about.

2nd Grand Obama Policy Deception

Well we now have proof that a second of President Obama's accomplishments is based on a big fat lie. First we learned from Jonathan Gruber, the economist and consultant paid $400k to help create and sell Obamacare to the American people, that we were intentionally deceived. As reported by Marc A. Thiessen in the Washington Post on 17 Nov 2014, "...there are now seven Gruber videos, in which he mocks the “stupidity” of American voters and boasts of the Obama administration’s ability to take advantage of it. In a new video that surfaced Friday, Gruber explains that the Obama administration passed the so-called “Cadillac tax” on high-value employer health plans “by mislabeling it, calling it a tax on insurance plans rather than a tax on people, when we know it’s a tax on people who hold these insurance plans.” Americans would not support a tax on individuals, so “We just tax the insurance companies, they pass on the higher prices . . . it ends up being the same thing.” The ruse, Gruber says, was “a very clever . . . basic exploitation of the lack of economic understanding of the American voter.”

Now we have an Obama Administration official admitting that the people (and Congress apparently) were lied to regarding the Iran Nuclear Deal. In a New York Times profile of Obama Administration National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes, Rhodes himself details the level deception and lies told to the country in order to get support for the deal.

If progressive ideas are so good, why do they so frequently require some initial lie? The power of propaganda!

Reforming Our Backward Tax System

The more I consider all the proposed tax reform plans, the more I'm beginning to think perhaps none of us have been looking at this issue the right way. We are going after the symptoms not the problem.

The Framers of our Constitution devised a federal system and never dreamed of such a top-heavy government requiring such burdensome federal taxes. The way our tax code has evolved, I have serious doubts that it can every be brought under control.

The federal government confiscates money from citizens from around the country so that Senators and Congressmen in Washington can fight over the spoils like pirates or a pack of jackals. Individual States have a nearly insatiable appetite for other people's money to spend on themselves and they reward those they send to Washington with re-election for bring home the "bacon". The 10th Amendment should have prevented this kind of tax and spend behavior. Under the current system, States can implement the craziest programs and get the rest the nation to pay for them.

Federal income tax brackets go from 10% up to almost 40% of one's adjusted gross income. State income taxes range from 0% in States like Florida and Texas to 13.3% in California. We should return to the Framers' original intent of the federal government only doing what the Constitution empowers it to do and leaving the rest up to the individual States. This would require reversing the tax rates with States having the higher rates and the federal government requiring a lower rate. This would accomplish several important things.

First, it would force those who demand services to pay for those services themselves. Second, it would also force Senators and Representatives to earn their re-elections by representing their States on truly national issues not by enabling a scheme to redistribute wealth. Third, it would force accountability for spending and the good stewardship of the people's money back to the State and local levels where it is much harder to hide fraud, waste and abuse. Forth, it would reduce the ability of a few very populous States such as California or New York from forcing their agendas on the rest of the country. Lastly, it would make the States less suseptable to blackmail by the federal government. No more, "You will do 'x' or we will withhold federal funds."

I have no illusions that this would ever voluntarily be done by Congress, After all, it would be a voluntary relinquishment of power since $=power in Washington. It could be accomplished at an  Article V Convention of the States along with some other issues I have previously advocated such as returning the selection of Senators back to State legislatures as originally intended.

Could any of this ever happen? Who knows but we can hope!

Misinterpreting Trump's Numbers

A lot has been made by the so called experts about Trump's numbers. They say that, despite having received the most votes in US primary history, still more people voted for someone else than voted for him. While that may be true, the pundits have drawn erroneous conclusions. They somehow equate that to a vote against Trump rather than simply an indication of another preference. They make the assumption that, for all those other voters, Trump couldn't possibly be their 2nd or 3rd choice. Their own biases made them interpret this to mean that if he wasn't their first choice, he was automatically their last choice. This is very poor analysis indeed. Further, these same experts told us after each Trump primary or caucus win that based on his rate of picking up delegates, he would never reach the 1237 needed to secure the nomination. Again, poor analysis. As the number of choices decreased, the rate at which "The Donald" picked up delegates increased. To make matters worse,  the pundits' faulty logic is being used to try to convince Republican voters that Trump will never be able to beat Hillary Clinton in the general election. Funny how the vigorous challenge mounted against Hillary by Bernie Sanders is never seen as an indication of her unpopularity or that she may have trouble in November.

The Trump and Sanders insurgent candidacies reflect or perhaps have even caused a "Sea Change" in American politics. The establishment types in both the Republican and Democrat parties either fail to recognize this shift or are choosing to ignore it. Keeping all this in mind, it seems highly unlikely that Republican voters who didn't get their first choice in their party's nominee would not only cast their ballot for the other party's candidate but also vote for someone who is ideologically 180 degrees out of phase with them. Likewise, I don't see disappointed Bernie supporters voting for his antithesis, Hillary Clinton. In this election, I predict the anti-establishment fervor will "Trump" all. Pun intended.

Points to Ponder

Capuchin monkeys understand unequal pay. See the link.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meiU6TxysCg
So does this mean they are smarter than the staffers that Hillary pays less than their male counterparts  or the executives of the Clinton Foundation who earn less?

Is it the job of a primary candidate to win the nomination or prevent another candidate from winning the nomination? They aren't necessarily the same thing.

The North Carolina law that requires one to use the bathroom corresponding to their biological gender is causing many celebs to boycott the state. Could NC be getting exactly what it wants?

On a related note, Since when does one's attire determine one's gender?

So former Speaker of the House, John Boehner, called Ted Cruz "Lucifer in the flesh." So what? Does anyone really care what that has been has to say?

Conjecture-based Fear or Fact-based Fear?

Americans who fear Trump do so based on what they think he may do. That's conjecture. Those who oppose Hillary do so because of what she has done.  Those are facts!  Which is more rational?

Trump Disaster vs Hillary Disaster

If a Trump presidency leads to disaster, it will be because he doesn't know what he is doing; with Hillary, it will be because she does!

A Very Sobering Experience - My Visit to the US Holocaust Memorial Museum

I just spent a very sobering 2 hours walking through the Holocaust Museum. I didn't get to see nowhere near what I wanted to see. I definitely will need to go back again. How these things can happen seems unfathomable. Everyone vows never again but I'm sure nearly everyone also thinks that could never happen here and yet it does!. You name the era, the country, the ethnic group, etc..

For anyone wondering how these things happen, the answer is almost always the same - a centralized government with too much power. Something to keep in mind before you vote for a candidate promising to take this away from that group, or make this or that mandatory, or place one more thing under federal control, or who describes their political rivals as "enemies". I'm not talking about what someone else said they said. I'm talking about hearing it straight from the candidate's mouth, in context - not some nefariously chosen sound bite. Otherwise, it just may be propaganda which is a main tool of those who wish to strip you of your freedom and it doesn't have to come from the government. Beware of political commentators in journalist's clothing pushing an agenda. There are those luring you to the edge of the slippery slope, hoping to give you a push.

Serious Immigration Question

If the vast majority of illegal immigration is due to visa "overstays" as pro illegal immigration types claim, then why do I only have a choice between English or Spanish on every automated telephone system menu in America today?

Any thoughts Jorge Ramos?

Thanks for Nothin' Lindsey!

On Thursday, Sen. Lindsey Graham announced he was supporting and fundraising for Sen. Ted Cruz for the Republican nomination for president but admitted he preferred Marco Rubio who suspended his campaign following his disappointing performance in Tuesday's primaries. Well thanks for nothing Lindsey! Not only is this a half-hearted endorsement for Cruz but it is quite ironic since it was his influence over Rubio that helped sidetrack if not completely derail Marco's political future. As a junior Senator, Rubio joined Graham as a member of the comprehensive immigration reform (CIR) group that has come to be known as the Gang of Eight. This group also included Arizona Sen. John  McCain (R) and ultra liberal senators Durbin (D-IL) and Schumer (D-NY). Rubio's membership in this group infuriated his supporter who back him in large part because he campaigned for his senate seat on a strong anti-illegal immigration stance not a "path to citizenship" position proposed by the Gang of Eight. This change of position plagued Rubio's bid for the Republican presidential nomination to the point that his campaign was never able to gain any traction.

The decision to flip on his stance on immigration was Rubio's responsibility alone but as a senior senator, Graham could have been a better mentor to the young, impressionable and perhaps naïve Marco. Maybe then Lindsey wouldn't have to make his apparently unpalatable decision to back Cruz and the rest of us might still have another good choice for the Republican nomination.

Again, Thanks for nothing Lindsey!

More Worry Over Trump than Hillary Nonsensical Unless....

The Establishment types who seem more worried about a President Trump than a President Hillary Clinton are very shortsighted when, if they play their cards right, they could easily accomplish both.

By opposing Trump now, they will almost certainly aid in the election of Hillary. Over the last seven and a half years, they have demonstrated that they are incapable or unwilling to oppose the liberal agenda and they stand no chance of opposing a President Hillary. On the other hand, if they step out of Trump's way (or even Cruz's for that matter) and actually support him, they will be able to control him. Unlike with a President Hillary who Republicans can expect no support from their Democrat colleagues if they oppose a policy, they can certainly count on liberal support to block any Trump policy they don't agree with since the Democrats will reflexively oppose all policies and initiative from a President Trump. This gives them a win-win.

The establishment Republican's fixation on stopping Trump, against the will on so many Republican primary voters, is self-destructive, foolish and shortsighted. Not only will it ultimately get Hillary elected but it will destroy the Republican Party. It will confirm what so many conservative Republicans already suspect: the establishment-wing of the Republican Party sees no place for them in the GOP and Conservatives will leave in droves. The establishments-types need to respect the will of the primary voters, respect the process and focus their attention on beating Hillary.

Opposing Trump at the expense of losing the 2016 election and the destroying the future of the GOP makes no sense unless the Establishment-types actually want to see the Leftist policies of Hillary implemented but want some level of plausible deniability.

So You're Considering Socialism? Consider Venezuela First!

Bernie Sanders is a self-professed socialist. Hillary Clinton is a far-left progressive who knows nothing about economics which essentially means she too is a socialist. Before deciding to vote for either of these two candidates based on their promises of free stuff, spreading the wealth, and making "the rich" pay their fair share, one should consider a case study of the most recent experiment with socialism - Venezuela.

When Hugo Chavez came to power in 1999, Venezuela was the richest country in Latin America. Then Chavez set about implementing his program of "Socialism of the 21th Century" which consisted of massive spending on the poor and nationalizing most of the country's industry including its number one source of wealth - the petroleum industry. For a time, Venezuela's economy managed to continue to lumber along mainly due to the inertia of its great oil wealth. Eventually, the effects of the huge increases in social spending and the adverse consequences of the socialist economic policies combined and compounded causing government revenues to plummet. The Chavez government continued to spend (promise everyone everything) even as the ability to pay for it became increasingly impossible. It borrowed and continued to spend in an economic death spiral feedback loop that today has Venezuela on the verge of economic collapse. It has dropped from the number one economy in Latin America to number 6; even below Cuba - this despite still having tremendous oil reserves. As a result of the implementation of socialist policies, the country's petroleum production capability has fallen dramatically as management was taken out of private, profit driven hands and placed under government, crony control.  The government is unable to negotiate deals to get raw materials or conduct international trade so there are chronic shortages of food and consumer goods including that bourgeois commodity - toilet paper. Inflation is running around 720% a year. Does socialism still sound good to you?

To be fair, "Socialism of the 21th Century", did keep one promise. It did redistribute wealth. Today,  Chavez's daughter is a multi-billionaire!

Now there's change you can believe in!

Personal Reflections on Nancy Reagan

America lost a national treasure last Sunday when former First Lady, Nancy Reagan, passed away at the age of 94. Despite being vilified by those who hated her husband, she showed incredible style, grace and class. Justice Department statistics show that during the Reagan presidency, drug use among young people was cut by 50% - an obvious result of Nancy's "Just Say No" campaign. Contrast that with the current liberal decriminalization push by progressives that is coinciding with a spike in heroin overdoses all over the country. Coincidence?

On the world stage, her standing up for America in meetings with Russian First Lady, Raisa Gorbachev, couldn't help but influence the relationship between their husbands and ultimately the two rival nations - remember in dealing with the U.S.S.R., Reagan made his opinion clear: "We win; they lose." which is exactly what happened.

Most importantly, as First Lady, she gave unconditional support to her husband. After his passing, she spent the remainder of her life working to preserve the legacy of her husband's presidency.

On a personal note I'd like to relay the following. Reagan spoke at my 1985 Naval Academy graduation - his address lasted about 30 minutes or so. As I sat there on the football field of Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium just yards away from the president listening intently to his words along with my classmates, Nancy sat behind him, slightly to his right (the audience's left) and she too listened intently. Her eyes never left the president which I found remarkable. Later, as I walked across the stage, received my diploma and I shook the president's hand (one of the highlights of my life), I think now I wish I had also paused to shake her hand. What a missed opportunity.

We will say goodbye to Mrs. Reagan on Friday. I'd like to add, Fair Winds and Following Seas, Nancy. Rest in Peace with your beloved Ronny!

More Hillary Accomplisments

I can't take credit for the following post however,  I think the information provided is very good to get back out there the the voters as they consider the next presidential nominees. I believe the original author is someone Kent Larson.

If you're under 50 you really need to read this. If you’re over 50, you lived through it, so share it with those under 50. Amazing to me how much I had forgotten!

When Bill Clinton was president, he allowed Hillary to assume authority over a health care reform. Even after threats and intimidation, she couldn’t even get a vote in a democratic controlled congress. This fiasco cost the American taxpayers about $13 million in cost for studies, promotion, and other efforts.

Then President Clinton gave Hillary authority over selecting a female attorney general. Her first two selections were Zoe Baird and Kimba Wood – both were forced to withdraw their names from consideration. Next she chose Janet Reno – husband Bill described her selection as “my worst mistake.” Some may not remember that Reno made the decision to gas David Koresh and the Branch Davidian religious sect in Waco, Texas resulting in dozens of deaths of women and children.

Husband Bill allowed Hillary to make recommendations for the head of the Civil Rights Commission. Lani Guanier was her selection. When a little probing led to the discovery of Ms. Guanier’s radical views, her name had to be withdrawn from consideration.

Apparently a slow learner, husband Bill allowed Hillary to make some more recommendations. She chose former law partners Web Hubbel for the Justice Department, Vince Foster for the White House staff, and William Kennedy for the Treasury Department. Her selections went well: Hubbel went to prison, Foster (presumably) committed suicide, and Kennedy was forced to resign.

Many younger votes will have no knowledge of “Travelgate.” Hillary wanted to award unfettered travel contracts to Clinton friend Harry Thompson – and the White House Travel Office refused to comply. She managed to have them reported to the FBI and fired. This ruined their reputations, cost them their jobs, and caused a thirty-six month investigation. Only one employee, Billy Dale was charged with a crime, and that of the enormous crime of mixing personal and White House funds. A jury acquitted him of any crime in less than two hours.

Still not convinced of her ineptness, Hillary was allowed to recommend a close Clinton friend, Craig Livingstone, for the position of Director of White House security. When Livingstone was investigated for the improper access of about 900 FBI files of Clinton enemies (Filegate) and the widespread use of drugs by White House staff, suddenly Hillary and the president denied even knowing Livingstone, and of course, denied knowledge of drug use in the White House.

Following this debacle, the FBI closed its White House Liaison Office after more than thirty years of service to seven presidents.

Next, when women started coming forward with allegations of sexual harassment and rape by Bill Clinton, Hillary was put in charge of the #$%$ eruption” and scandal defense. Some of her more notable decisions in the debacle were:

She urged her husband not to settle the Paula Jones lawsuit. After the Starr investigation they
         settled with Ms. Jones.

She refused to release the Whitewater documents, which led to the appointment of Ken Starr as
         Special Prosecutor.

After $80 million dollars of taxpayer money was spent, Starr's investigation led to Monica
Lewinsky, which led to Bill lying about and later admitting his affairs.

Hillary’s devious game plan resulted in Bill losing his license to practice law for 'lying under
oath' to a grand jury and then his subsequent impeachment by the House of Representatives.

Hillary avoided indictment for perjury and obstruction of justice during the Starr investigation
by repeating, “I do not recall,” “I have no recollection,” and “I don’t know” a total of 56 times
        while under oath.

After leaving the White House, Hillary was forced to return an estimated $200,000 in White House furniture, china, and artwork that she had stolen.

What a swell party – ready for another four or eight year of this type of low-life mess?

Now we are exposed to the destruction of possibly incriminating emails while Hillary was Secretary of State and the “pay to play” schemes of the Clinton Foundation – we have no idea what shoe will fall next.

But to her loyal fans (supporters) - I guess in her own words “what difference does it make?”
