Obama's Actionless Empathy

Recent polls show that a greater number of Americans feel as though President Obama has greater empathy for the middle-class than Gov. Romney.

As far as I'm concern, lacking empathy is not nearly as bad as having empathy but not doing anything to help. By that standard, Obama's empathy isn't anything to cheer about!

  1. Is it any mystery why we feel greater affection for the President than Ebenezer Romney who who rather they that they simply "do it, and decrease the surplus population" to paraphrase Dickens. Those 47% - elderly pensioners on social security, wounded Iraq and Afghanistan vets, disabled citizens, retired military. Sorry guys, why does anyone need a Swiss bank account or account in the Caymans? Reagan would be appalled, truly appalled at what the party has become. You chased me out - now I am your Jacob Marley...and your [ideological] chains are ponderous...ponderous indeed...

  2. Hyperbole aside, you make a pretty good... Nah, who am I trying to kid. Your analogy is from outer space. Ronmey gave 1000% more to charity in one year than Biden did in 10 years. I know that, as a tolerant liberal, you discount that since it was given largely through the Mormon church and not the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster aka the US Government. According to Politico (not a Right-wing organization,)“Republican Pesidential nominee Mitt Romney was far more generous to charities than President Barack Obama or Vice President Joe Biden last year, both in dollar terms and as a percentage of income.... Romney and his wife, Ann, gave 29.4 percent of their income to charity in 2011, donating $4,020,772 out of the $13,696,951 they took in. Obama and first lady Michelle Obama gave 21.8 percent of their income to charitable organizations last year, donating $172,130 out of the $789,674 they made.” Oh and of course, every one of the 47% fall into the categories you listed. As to the overseas banking question, why not ask Nancy Peloci or Debbie Wasserman Schultz since after opining on the subject it was pointed out that they too have overseas holdings. I would have mentioned Harry Reid but he won't release any of his financial info probably because his finances are handled by Tom Cruise's character from "The Firm." Funny how liberals pull the political spectrum scale to the left underneath the range of ideologies and claim conservatives have moved farther to the right. And I doubt you were chased out. Like many successful liberals, the left helps assuage your feelings of guilt for being successful. As Sean Hannity quotes Scripture by saying, "Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled." You didn't steal it! You built that!!!
