Doormat-in-Chief

As any reader of this blog knows, I'm no fan of President Obama. That said, he is still the president of the United States and deserves respect.

Recently, a transgender, illegal alien heckled Mr. Obama during his remarks at a White House reception. This is completely unacceptable! How can we tolerate this insult? Why should we let this person remain in our country?

I think it is high time we stop allowing ourselves and our nation to be disrespected. It's time for America to start standing up for itself again. America and her president are no body's doormat. Show some self-respect! If we don't respect ourselves, why should we expect respect from anyone else?

ISIS Training?

Following the thwarted attack in Garland, TX, ISIS took responsibility and said they have 70 other trained jihadists in 15 states. In the Garland attack, the two jihadis were armed with AK-47 assault rifles and hand guns. They were killed by a lone policeman with his service sidearm who was uninjured. I hope the other 70 are as well trained as those in Garland.

Pressing Hillary on Economics

A significant weakness for Hillary Clinton, if only someone will force her to reveal it, is her lack of understanding of economics. Certainly, the voters won't be able to rely on the media to ask her to explain her economic views because they are under the same misconceptions that the candidate is so it will be up to her potential rivals during the primary race and then during the general election.

Hillary's economic ignorance is typified by her statement regarding record oil company profits. In 2007 she said,  "I want to take those profits and put them into an alternative energy fund that will begin to fund alternative smart energy alternatives that will actually begin to move us toward the direction of independence." This has a very populist appeal for many but it begs some very important questions.

First, "From whom would you be taking those profits Mrs Clinton?" Apparently, she and many others believe there is some evil "1 per center" named Mr. Exxon or Mr. Mobil. The reality is that those profits would be taken from the pension funds of ordinary Americans - teachers, firefighters, etc. and the IRAs and 401(k)s of hard working Americans who are doing the right thing and trying to save for their own retirement.

The next question is, "If companies don't make a profit, why would they continue to operate?" I don't know if she has thought this through or not but the answer is they would for a short while but eventually they would not. Companies exist to make profits. They do other things too but those are just secondary benefits to society that are made possible by the existence of profits. Take away profits, lose jobs, goods, services, taxes just to name a few things.

Perhaps Hillary meant just excess profits so let's assume that to be the case. So who determines what excess means? People who believe in capitalism and free-market economics know that the market determines the price of goods and services and ultimately the profits a business receives. Those on the left like Mrs Clinton might believe otherwise but belief isn't fact.

There are other problems with Hillary's economic plan. To help shine a spotlight on them, one of her opponents needs to ask, "Don't excess profits serve some good?" To this she would certainly answer, "No. Excess profits are unfair." or some other such drivel. Here again she would be wrong because she is focusing on fairness which is misguided. The truth is excess profits serve a very important role in the market. When excess profits exist, other companies enter the market to try to take some of those profits away. Further, it encourages the development of alternative products and alternative technologies because they are suddenly affordable. The result is lower prices and greater choices for consumers. Reality bears this out.  During the period where there were so-called excess oil profits, market forces drove hydraulic fracturing technology that started the oil boom in the Bakken Shale fields of North Dakota, caused the price of oil to plummet and led to the United States becoming the world's leading producer of natural gas. That is the free market at work. By contrast, the left gave us Solyndra.

Lastly, someone needs to ask Hillary, "What is the model for a government "fund" to do something?" "The Social Security Trust Fund?" Yeah, that inspires confidence.

Republican Primary Tactic for Opposing Hillary

It has been 6 months since my last post. I took some time to finish a second master’s degree but now with that out of the way, it’s back to Carnivore!

So Hillary Clinton is running for president. No surprise there and chances are she will have little opposition from fellow Democrats. However, if the Democrat Party nominates Hillary, they will be backing a profoundly flawed candidate.

In contrast, the Republican Party will have a large field of perhaps twenty candidates vying for their party’s nomination. There are about 14 months until the Republican National Convention where the Republican candidate will be chosen and in that time, it is essential that those seeking the nomination refrain from sniping at each other. To do so would result in a weakened opponent emerging to face Hillary in the general election. Remember Reagan’s Eleventh Commandment: Thou shall not speak ill of another Republican.

A much better course of action would be to apply the military tactic of concentration of firepower - that is: all the Republican primary candidates focus their efforts against Hillary. The candidate that most effectively attacks the record and capability of Hillary will earn the right to face her in the general election without being bloodied by their fellow Republicans. The challenge will be for the GOP primary candidates to resist the urge to attack each other.

The Illogic of Democrat Ebola Logic

Healthcare professionals who are compassionate enough to travel halfway around the world, live in 3rd world conditions and risk their own lives to work with Ebola patients will be discouraged from doing that in the future by a 21-day quarantine requirement? Do Democrats really think that makes sense?

You have to be in direct contact with someone infected with Ebola to contract the disease, right? So healthcare workers who will be up to their elbows, so-to-speak, in the blood, vomit, and feces of infected patients, don't need to be quarantined but our military personnel who won't be in direct contact with infected patients do? What???

Requiring a 21-day quarantine for healthcare worker returning after treating Ebola patients in west Africa, would be disrespectful to them but it isn't disrespectful to our returning troops. Really?

Calling for travel restrictions to affected countries and quarantines for those coming from those countries is anti-science, right? It is also implied that it is racist. So I guess all these countries and organizations are backward, racist, anti-science types.

Appointing lawyer, non-doctor and political fixer, Ron Klain, as Ebola Czar makes perfect sense, right? By the way, has anyone seen him lately? He hasn't been to any of the meetings.

Democrat Open Border Policy Pushes Black to Back of the Bus

I have never been able to understand why the overwhelming majority of African Americans support the Democrat Party. After all, this is the party of slavery, the KKK, Jim Crow laws, a welfare system that has systematically destroyed the black family and abortion on demand that has resulted in the alarming statistic that today 50% of black pregnancies end in abortion. These last two issues have been the most insidious.

In 1965 when President Johnson outlined his "Great Society", only about 24% of African American children were born out of wedlock. Today, that number is more than 70%. According to the US Census Bureau, the African American population was 10.5% of the US total in 1960. Today it is only 13%. During the same period, the birth rate for African Americans plummeted from 4.2 births per women to only 2 births per women. The high rate of abortion among black women is obviously a major contributing factor. In fact, the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, often said in her writings that two of the main goals of birth control are weeding undesirables from the population and eradicating the Negro race. It is obvious that Democrat welfare and abortion policies have had a particularly deleterious effect on America's black citizens. Although not eradicated, the African American population in America has suffered under Democrat policies.

The Democrats' most recent scheme to keep African Americans at the bottom of the principle minority groups in the U.S. is their open borders policies and the attempt to legalize millions of illegal aliens. Since they take their African American constituents for granted, they are going to buy the Latino vote and American Blacks will be the ones who pay the bill. Blacks will still be 13% of our population and Hispanics will suddenly be more than 20%.

When I was in high school, I worked as a laborer in construction during the summer. There were a few other white high school kids and the rest African Americans.  Today, if you walk past a construction site, you won't see any white or black laborers. They have all been replaced by Hispanics. That would be fine if white youth and African American workers were finding other employment and the Latinos were working here legally. However, that simply isn't the case.

After the mid-term election, President Obama has vowed to grant amnesty to millions of illegals - the majority of them from Mexico and Central America. What the president will in essence be saying is, "Rosa get on to the back of the bus. Jose gets your seat!"

The Next Facebook Name Game

We've all seen them - the "What is your _______ name?" game on Facebook. You know, "What is your old lady name?", "What is your gangster name?", "What is your superhero name?" or whatever. You take the name from one list based on the month you were born and the second name from a second list based on the day you were born.  If our leaders in the West don't dislodge their collective heads from the tight, dark, fetid, place where they have them wedged, we better all be thinking about "What is your Islamic name?" which we will have to take when we are forced to convert. These ISIS devils are serious evil incarnate and they mean business. We are all at risk. Christians will be forced to convert or die. Moderate Western Muslims need not worry. No, not because you are already Muslims. No, you don't need to worry because you won't be around. What? Yes that's right. You will be some of the first to be killed because the Islamists will label you not Muslim enough, or decide you are from the wrong branch of Islam, or a Zionist collaborator, or some other trumped up excuse. Why? Because that's what tyrants do! And if you are Jewish? Well you know you needn't bother either. It's always the same story for you, right? Dangerous days are ahead for the civilized world - Christian, Jew, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Atheist, Druid, Pagan, Cult of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, or whatever, unless we wake ourselves from our politically correct slumber/stupor!
