Israeli Territory vs Palestinian Territory

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/opinions/a-two-state-solution-is-best-for-everyone/2016/12/31/20ec9648-cecb-11e6-a87f-b917067331bb_story.html?client=safari

In the above link from the WaPo, Brent Scowwcroft and Thomas Pickering argue for the two-state solution. If one wonders what the future would look like, one only need look at territory currently held by Israel compared to that under Palestinian control. Despite billions of US dollars that have poured into Palestine, those areas are still a filthy, undeveloped, "Appalachia" in the Middle East. In contrast, the Israeli controlled land is clean, irrigated, and productive.

I guarantee the pre-1967 borders won't satisfy the Palestinians and won't lead to peace in the Middle East. Hope and well wishes aren't enough.

Another Worthless Obama Statement

President Obama made yet another addition to his list of worthless and forgettable statements. He claimed had he been able to run again, he would have beaten Trump. Well he couldn't; he didn't and we will never know if he was right. It's just more wind from a president hoping for a legacy of more than just being the first African American President of the United States. Unfortunately, legacies are created throughout a presidency not in the final days of one. This latest claim will go down in history along with "Hope and Change" and "Today is the day when the rise of the oceans will begin to slow..." as just more empty words if they are remembered at all. Mr Obama's legacy will be one of squandered opportunities to change America for the better and  "fundamentally transforming" the country for the worse.

Obama and the Koala

With the exception of the koala, I know of no other creature on earth that has a more consistent diet than Barack Obama. Koalas eat exclusively eucalyptus and the recent election reminds us of one of Mr Obama's talents: arranging five course meals for himself consisting of crow prepared in various ways. During the election, President Obama scoffed at Donald Trump's claims that the election system is rigged. Now that his side lost, he apparently doesn't believe that is so far fetched after all.

The Russian hacking claims will ultimately prove to be just another distraction that had no provable  effect on the election. One would think that after eight years, he would work a little harder to vary his diet. Regardless of how it's prepared, constantly having to eat crow would get old.

Tillerson and the Order of Friendship

For those concerned about Putin and Tillerson being too close based on the fact that Putin gave Tillerson the Order of Friendship, I say relax. The Order of Friendship from Putin is like a Christmas card from your insurance agent. Don't read too much into it.

Sally Field Joins the Ranks of the Unhinged Liberals

While I enjoy her work as an actress, I would prefer that Sally Field refrain from making a fool out of herself by hypocritical rants on TV and Twitter. On a recent appearance on the Chelsea Show, Field embarked on a unhinged rant to host, Chelsea Handler, that included the following: "If you look at his past, if you look at his history, there is no evidence that he can do one single thing that he says he’s going to do."

I suppose that Donald Trump, a real estate billionaire with dozens of highly successful, very large scale projects to his credit saying "We will build a wall and Mexico will pay for it." Is far fetched but when Barack Obama, a community organizer, state senator, and junior US Senator, said in a speech following the Minnesota primary (3 June 2008), " ... this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal;..." this is a reasonable claim?

Maybe it would be better if Ms. Field stuck with what she knows since it appears she has a blind spot when it comes to politics.

Dems Project Own Bias On Trump Win

It's becoming more and more clear that Democrats and Progressives (but I repeat myself) don't understand the reasons behind the recent shellacking they took in the election. Further, their influence nationwide has collapsed during the Obama presidency. They have lost the White House, the House, the Senate and they are outnumbered 31 to 18 in state governorships. Additionally, they are 69 to 31 minorities in state legislatures. Even in the face of these results, they doubled down on their losing formula and re-elected Nancy Pelosi as minority leader. When talking heads and analysts on the left try to explain the reasons for Trump's win, we often hear that Trump effectively targeted white, blue collar, voters. I would argue this is completely wrong. Democrats see America as a collection of various voting blocks to target and then try to craft a message that somehow plots a least squares fit between all of them. However, there is an old saying that if you try to please everyone, you end up pleasing no one. It is my opinion that Trump didn't target anyone. He said what he thinks and his message resonated with a very diverse cross section of America including white, working class voters especially in the key rust belt states.

Hopefully Progressives will continue to project their biases on their Republican rivals because in doing so, they will continue to misunderstand them and fail to understand why they lose to them. The end result will be years of opposition, minority party status for the Democrats and a bright future for America.
